Dr.Scholls For Her Comfort Insoles | A Life (and foot) Saver

I can tell by the clusters of orange and yellow on the ground that the chill of fall is officially in full swing. While this might bring some sadness to some people, to me it brings great joy in knowing that I can now crack open my closet and unleash all my shoes again!
Fall not to me not only means comfy sweaters and cardigans but also a great arrays foot candy like booties, wedges, boots, oxford flats, sneakers and any more! While I appreciate the much needed variety to my footwear, fall also means sore feet! I can no longer get away with wearing comfy flip flops and sandals ,or run around barefoot anymore, so my feet get really sore! But beauty is pain..right??
I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be! I use to just suck it up when it came to foot pain and I would cram my already throbbing toes in to my studded booties and go on with my day, but the older I get the harder it is to ignore the pain and even recover from it. My last night out I swear my feet hurt so bad that my toes were numb for a week…totally not healthy.
That’s why my newest box from Influenster could not have come at a better time! Not only did I get lots of goodies to pamper myself with, but I also got a pair of the Dr.Scholls For Her comfort insoles to try on my tired feet. I never really thought of trying insoles out in my fall flats so I wanted to give them a good go so I could give you my honest verdict….and I love them!
They really helped to comfort my feet, my biggest problem is cushion. My fall shoes never seem to have enough comfort for me in the soles and that’s what leads to all of the foot and leg pain, and in one day I felt such a difference. My legs were not nearly as sore as they usually are and the bottoms of my feet did not get numb. Best part is I was able to spend a whole day out with the kids in some of my most fashionable shoes without any missteps.
So I am here to tell you girls, you do not have to suffer anymore! You no longer have to trade beauty for pain or make sacrifices on days out with the family by
by throwing on those grandma shoes…you heard it here first!
So thank you Dr.Scholls and Influenster for letting me try these out and I’m happy to spread the word!

Lots of love!

My Husband Did My Makeup.

Hey ya’ll (who am I kidding I’m from NY I can not pull off a ya’ll). Anyways…for those of you who don’t know, I am married to the most awesome guy ever who lets me be silly and loves me for it. 11 years together and 2 kids later we have found the secret to keeping it fresh: just be completely ridiculous together.
We are known to run out and jump in the rain, or have a late night dance party. Its all about the fun, so when I asked him if he would do my makeup for a blog he jumped on it.

I have to say I was quite surprised. The only time I started to freak out was when he picked up my beloved blending brush and started to dip it in my bronzer. He certainly went for it, he even attempted liquid liner and used my LancĂ´me mascara which has a difficult wand to work with. All though he did invent this new move where he would stand behind me to apply the mascara which is totally scary.
It literally took an hour and came out pretty well, I was shocked. He told me that he has “paid attention” over the years. Totally cute. This is why I appreciate my husband so much, he is always willing to be a little crazy with me no matter how much embarrassment it causes him.
So enjoy our live-action shots of the fun and as always, happy blending!

Worth the Fuss??

Because I am such an addict when it comes to beauty research, I often come across products that create a buzz in the beauty blogging world and like any normal addict I have to indulge.

So there have been two products that I’ve been hearing good things about and both happen to be drugstore brands which is great for my wallet but the important question is, are they worth the buzz? Lets find out!

First we have the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation. This claims to be a full coverage foundation which also triples as a primer and a concealer which is suppose to provide an oil free finish. Wait, so I don’t have to use a primer or a concealer?? Color me skeptical. I have a warm medium skin tone and as far as flaws go mine are some discoloration and some serious redness, so if this foundation could conceal my clown face, I will be surprised.
Before I applied the foundation I started with a freshly washed faced and some light moisturizer as well as under eye cream. I applied it using my Sonja Kashuk buffing brush (no.130) and right away I could tell it would be full coverage so I only applied a thin layer. After a few minutes of inspecting my face I felt that it didn’t do enough concealing for me so I had to rely on my good ole’ conceal stick on my cheeks and under eyes. In all fairness I used only about half the concealer then I normally would. After some contouring, high lightening, blushing, and finishing with a matte powder I was really impressed with this finish. (You can check out my ‘oh so lovely’ before and after below)
3 in 1? Meh. Nice coverage with a lasting finish? Absolutely.
**Covergirl’s 3 in 1 foundation retails for around $10 and I purchased mine in 832 Nude Beige**

Next buzz product is a pack of eyeshadows that have made many appearances in some on my favorite beauty blogger videos so naturally I had to give them a shot!
Wet n Wild ColorIcon shadow trios claims to be soft and easy to use color combinations that compliment each other and are fool proof. Full disclosure I was nervous about this product because I am not a huge fan of this brand but I went in with a open mind.
I purchased mine in the shade “Walking on Eggshells” which is a nude pallet which is always what I go for. I was TOTALLY surprised by how much I loved it. It was so soft and smooth it felt like butter and the colors blended really well together for a great “natural smoke.” In all honesty I can wait to go back and purchase other shades! (You can check out how it looked on the lids below)

**Wet n Wild pallets retail for $3.99**

I would say that these are totally worth the fuss and the buzz and best of all I got them both on sale at my local drugstore which isn’t too shabby! If you have a buzz product you’d like me to try, leave me some love below because chances are I’ve tried it or already been eyeing it.

Happy blending and don’t forget to follow!
